Principal photography is now officially underway for Disney's mystery adventure Tomorrowland, from director Brad Bird. The production is shooting in Vancouver.
The story centers on a bright, optimistic teen bursting with scientific curiosity and a former boy-genius inventor jaded by disillusionment who embark on a dangerous mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space that exists in their collective memory as Tomorrowland.
The film stars George Clooney, Hugh Laurie, Britt Robertson, Raffey Cassidy and Thomas Robinson. Bird is directing from a script that he co-wrote with Damon Lindelof, based on a story by Lindelof, Bird and Jeff Jensen.
Jensen and John Walker will executive-produce Tomorrowland with Bernard Bellew and Tom Peitzman serving as co-producers. Bird, Lindelof and Jeffrey Chernov are also producers.
Tomorrowland hits theaters on December 12, 2014.
