Kurt Russell Out of Fast and Furious 7, But May Join Fast 8?

Guardians of the Galaxy actor Djimon Hounsou is reportedly joining the ensemble cast of Fast & Furious 7.

Variety reports that the Oscar nominee has been cast in an unspecified role in the James Wan-directed sequel, which is now filming.

Meanwhile, rumor has it that we'll have to wait on seeing Kurt Russell join the Fast franchise. According to the tweets below from this unofficial Fast 7 feed, Russell would have played the vengeful father of one of the dead characters from the very first film.

Universal Pictures had not responded to our request for comment, confirmation or denial of the Russell rumors by time of publish.

UPDATE: So it looks like Kurt Russell is indeed in Fast 7, according to this tweet today from director James Wan.
