FX is now developing a sequel series to American Psycho, based on Bret Easton Ellis' novel and the 2000 film starring Christian Bale.
According to Deadline, the new show takes place decades after the events of the original story, fast-forwarding from the 1980s (when the movie is set) to present day. Now, Patrick Bateman is in his mid-50s, but still just as ruthless, as he takes on a protégé that will eventually become his successor -- "a next-generation American Psycho."
Lionsgate TV, whose Lionsgate Films produced the American Psycho movie, will oversee the project with FX Productions, producer Allison Shearmur and writer Stefan Jaworski.
