Superstar Tom Hanks and Tom Tykwer, one of the directors of Cloud Atlas, will soon reunite on a new feature adaptation of A Hologram for the King, based on the novel by Dave Eggers.
In the new movie, Hanks will play a struggling businessman who leaves America for a rising Saudi Arabian city, where he hopes to avoid foreclosure, pay off his daughter's college tuition and finally do something great.
Deadline reports that Lotus Entertainment has come aboard to handle international sales for the project, with Playtone and X Filme Creative Pool producing. Once in Toronto for the festival, Lotus will sell the foreign rights to get the film ready for an early 2014 production start.
