Rhino "One of Several" Villains in The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Actor Paul Giamatti has revealed more details about his approach to his character Rhino, his suit, and the rest of Spider-Man's foes in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Although some fans were upset that The Amazing Spider-Man 2's designers were taking a more realistic approach to Rhino's costumes, including outfitting him in this tracksuit number, it appears that the final Rhino suit may deviate even further from the comic books.

"In the comic books of old, he had this suit on that made him look like a rhinoceros, and it made him super strong," Giamatti told The Toronto Sun. "If there was a bank vault he would just run right through it. Butt through it with his head. And he was not very smart.

I have a particular kind of suit, but I don't think I'm supposed to talk about it. He's a Russian mobster. Russians are always good villains. I have an ability to just destroy things."

Giamatti went on to talk about his "hammy" approach to the villain.

"My accent is pretty hammy. I loved doing it. it seemed to me like an opportunity to be as over-the-top hammy as possible. It was really fun."

Following on from director Mark Webb's recent suggestion that his movie might "not just be a Spider-Man" one, Giamatti revealed that he and Jamie Foxx's Electro are not the only baddies who will face off against Spidey.

"(Rhino is just) one of several bad guys in the movie. I believe there's a lot of stage-setting for the next film. There are several villains in this movie, and some of them are more foreground and important. Jamie Foxx is and stuff. A couple of us are more hanging around the background because I think there will be a bigger deal."

Rumors have been rampant as to which villains will join the pair. Who would you like to see in The Amazing Spider-Man 2? Let us know in the comment section below.
