One More Thing: Apple TV Update Next Week

Did you walk away from Apple's iPhone event yesterday feeling unsatisfied? The iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S were big news, no doubt, but Tim Cook left the stage without proclaiming "one more thing" and blowing everyone's minds with a last-minute announcement. Well, according to AllThingsD, Cupertino does have something else up its sleeve.

Apparently, even though it wasn't even remotely mentioned during the event on Tuesday, the Apple TV really is on deck for a software update; and sooner than you might think. Sources claim Apple will update its streaming media box on September 18, the same day iOS 7 releases to the masses.

Details of the update are slim, with the only major (rumored) change in regards to how Apple TV owners access content away from home. Allegedly, you'll have the opportunity to stream content from your iTunes account to any Apple TV, with the assistance of AirPlay.

Honestly, if the rumor holds true, it's probably safe to not expect any groundbreaking features. Apple certainly wanted the focus on iPhone on Tuesday--where's the iPad?--but a sudden software update with absolutely no mention seems rather odd.
